National Library week is coming up, and our fabulous librarian wanted to do something fun to celebrate, so she invited my young adult literature classes to participate in created a giant domino made out of books that are being removed from the system (so they don't have to be reshelved!). This was an activity that required team collaboration and thinking outside the box. We simply showed my students the following video clip and then set them free to see what they could come up with together. Here were some of the results: When we finished, we picked up our mess and had free reading time in the library. The kids really enjoyed it, and both classes really surprised me with how well they worked together. I'd like to find a way to make this more educational or even cross-curricular, but for now I'm happy with the collaboration and increased love for our HMS library.

I love all your great ideas. I wish I had more time to read through your blog during the school year. I will definitely reading through it this summer as I am making lesson plans for next year. Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration and will continue to inspire other parents, teachers and students alike!
