As I have been considering other formats of expression, I have decided to introduce my students to book trailers. Similar to movie trailers, these short clips are created by professionals to promote their books, but many book fans also create book trailers to generate additional interest in their favorite books.

As they peruse various book trailers, I would like them to consider the following:
- What were your impressions? Do you like this format of sharing books?
- Can book trailers change your perspective on a book you've already read?
- Did you gain any new insights about books you've already read?
- Did the book trailers you viewed accurately portray the story as you remember it?
- Are the book trailers intriguing enough to make you want to try new books?
- How did the creators use images and sound to make the book appear to be appealing?
- If you were making the trailer, what would you have done differently?
I look forward to seeing my students create and share the book trailers that they create. I love how this builds on what they already know about book reviews but causes them think about what they have learned in a new light.
